Share the Bounty Week

StB-redpostShare the Bounty week is a rapidly emerging collaboration among local organizations seeking to explore the need and opportunity to make healthy, local food more accessible in Goshen. The lineup of events is still taking shape:

  • Goshen College EcoPAX will exhibit a pop-up show of the Lexicon of Sustainability (Monday through Saturday, Nov 18 – 23, location TBD)
  • The Maple City Market monthly Board of Directors meeting will highlight the work of Church Community ServicesSeed to Feed program (Monday, Nov 18, 6:30pm at the Goshen Chamber).
  • The Window will be hosting a World Cafe event focused on the Share the Bounty theme (Tuesday, November 19 at the Window)
  • Goshen College EcoPAX students are planning to host and facilitate a panel discussion on food security (Wednesday, Nov 20, location and time TBD).
  • The Farmers Market Film Series will show “A Place at the Table“, sponsored by Maple City Market, at the new Art House cinema in Goshen, with donations benefitting the Window (Thursday, Nov 21, 7pm)
  • Goshen Farmers Market is having a Harvest Celebration at market with music and free food; the goal will be to purchase and prepare local gift boxes of fresh produce using Share the Bounty funds (Saturday, Nov 23, 8am – 1pm)
  • Transition Goshen will facilitate an Open Space event as a finale (Nov 23 or 24, TBD)

One of the overall goals of the week is to support the Share the Bounty program administered by the Goshen Farmers Market, which provides fresh produce to local families at reduced cost through various means.  Please click here to donate to the Share the Bounty fund and help increase the sharing this Thanksgiving season.
